Referral terms and conditions

These referral terms and conditions explain how the Thomas Brown Recruitment Ltd referral scheme operates. By submitting a referral you agree to comply with these terms.

What counts as a valid referral

A referral is considered valid when:

  • the referred person is not already known to or registered with Thomas Brown Recruitment Ltd
  • the referred company is not already in discussion or working with Thomas Brown Recruitment Limited
  • you have confirmed that the referred person or company has agreed to be referred
  • the referral is submitted through the official referral form or system provided on our website

Any referrals made without the person’s consent or containing incomplete or inaccurate information may be rejected.

Successful referral criteria

A referral becomes successful when:

  • the referred candidate is offered and accepts a role through Thomas Brown Recruitment Ltd, and
  • the candidate remains in that role for a minimum of 8 weeks after starting
  • If the candidate leaves or is terminated within the first 8 weeks, the referral will not qualify for a reward
  • the company referral settles the client invoice within 60 days

Referral rewards

The referral reward is discretionary and may vary depending on the role, seniority and quality of the referral. Our website states that rewards may be up to £1,000. The final amount is determined by Thomas Brown Recruitment Ltd and the invoice value.

Only one referral fee is paid per candidate. If multiple people refer the same candidate, the reward will be paid to the first referral received, provided all other conditions are met.

Payment process

Once a referral is confirmed as successful, reward payments:

  • will be processed when the client invoice has been settled
  • will be made using the payment details provided by the referrer
  • the referrer will be responsible for any tax implications for the reward

We are not responsible for delays caused by incorrect payment information being supplied.

Referral fees may be subject to tax depending on your circumstances. It is your responsibility to report and pay any applicable tax.

Exclusions

Referral fees will not be paid if:

  • the referred person is already on our system or has previously applied through us
  • the referrer or referred candidate provides false or misleading information
  • the referrer is acting in breach of any legal or contractual obligations
  • the referral does not meet the successful referral criteria

Data protection

By submitting a referral, you confirm that you have obtained permission from the candidate to share their personal data. We will process all personal data in accordance with our privacy policy.

Changes to the referral scheme

We may amend, suspend or terminate the referral programme or these terms at any time. Any changes will be published on our website. Referrals submitted before changes take effect will be honoured under the terms in place at the time of submission.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
